Le Petit Chateau
Newly restored 19th Century traditional French chateau with swimming pool and tennis court Sleeps up to 13 The Area Le Petit Chateau is situated just outside the village of
Courpignac, in the Charente Maritime countryside - about 45 minutes north
of Bordeaux. Montendre, about 8km away is a very well equipped village
hosting a multitude of shops, supermarkets, post office and a small chateau.
There is a boulangerie in the village of Courpignac (about 400 meters from the
property). The entrance, grounds and tennis court at Le Petit Chateau Try St.Emilion or Cognac for a day trip - or perhaps the sand dunes at Arcachon. You can also find Thermal baths offering Sauna, Spa, Gym, Hammam and a waterpark paradise for children and adults at near by Jonzac - just 15 minutes away. There is a marvellous beach at Royan - about 50 mins drive
The property Le Petit Chateau is set in 3 hectares of wonderful lawned gardens with a large private fenced swimming pool (13m x 6m - salt) and garden furniture, tennis court and barbeque. By the pool is an outside kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment) with shaded seating area. There is also a WC. The owners say that whilst the tennis court is not Wimbledon, as good tennis players, they confirm that they are able to play with pleasure! At the bottom of the garden there is a small duck pond which overlooks the vineyards and fields beyond. Boules, badminton and tennis racquets are provided. 6 bicycles are also available ( 3 adults and 3 children). The property has four stories. Part of the ground floor is for the use of the caretaker (they do not have access to the pool). First Floor You enter the chateau into a large entrance hall and from there you have two lounges - one with a television (with Canal Satellite - French with some UK/US channels) and DVD (they can also be rented locally) the other with a music system and CD player. The dining room leads from the kitchen which is equipped with microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, electric oven and hob. ADSL broadband internet & Wi-Fi. There are 4 bedrooms on this floor, each sleeping 2 people. (1 twin & 3 doubles) The master bedroom has a Jacuzzi bath. In total there are 3 bath / shower rooms and 2 toilets. There are 2 cots and a highchair available for use - please ask at the time of booking.
Second Floor Up to the second floor there is a huge room with table tennis table and bean bags. There are additional mattresses here should they be required.
A further bedroom, sleeping 3 (a double and additional single bed) and shower room. Just outside the bedroom and games room is a toilet. Third floor Here you find a further small bedroom (with double bed), sleeping 2 with washing area and toilet just outside the door. On the ground floor, you have access to a washing machine and 'drying room'. The property benefits from central heating. Prices (per week)
