Latane

Newly renovated 18th Century hayloft with exceptional views (sleeps 6+)

Latane - the pool - with fantastic views

The area:

The property is situated 2kms away from the village of Laparade, which is renowned for its panoramic views and has an excellent restaurant - you must NOT miss the summer evening markets on a Tuesday (mark this in your diary!). 4.5 kms away is Castelmoron sur Lot - a pretty village with good local amenities, bars and restaurants. As the name suggests this is on the Lot River - at Clairac (6km) there are supermarkets, boulangeries, a campsite with "beach" where you can swim in the river under the watchful eye of the lifeguard . The larger towns of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Agen and Aiguillon are all within easy distance and worth a visit. Tonneins is 8km with a fill set of amenities.

For wine lovers the area abounds, with the vineyards of Duras, Buzet and Bergerac all within easy reach. Bordeaux with its numerous chateaux and well known wine producers is only 90 minutes away. Lovers of good food are not left out; they can enjoy fine local restaurants with good local and traditional cuisine. The area is well known for is productivity of plums and prunes. This is also a fisherman's paradise - nature lovers can enjoy the wildflowers and birds as well as countryside which is perfect for walking. Art lovers will be inspired by what they see, and by the renowned museum in Agen.

The spacious gardens with panoramic views at Latane - perfect for watching the sun go down!

The area surrounding Latane is beautiful countryside, with well-mapped rambling and walking routes. Riding facilities are very close by. There is golf at Castelnaud, an 18-hole championship course, and at Tombeboeuf there is a 9-hole golf course with practice area and a pro shop. Both golf courses have clubs, trolleys and buggies for hire.

Agen, apart from its renowned art museum, has Park Walibi, a big amusement park that is always fun for the children. At Clariac there is the Magic Forest, again great fun for the children. The Magique Chaudron is a must for the children. This is an angora goat farm where the children can help to bottle feed the kids at certain times of the year and even help with the milking and cheese making.

Further local activities – all within 10kms: fishing, boat trips, microlight flying, canoeing, kayaking, leisure lakes, castles, fortified churches, bastide villages, wine tasting, daily markets, evening markets, caves, grottos, potteries and local farms selling their own produce (details provided)
