Au Bardèche
An imposing 17th Century Country house and private pool (Sleeps 11) - 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms Situated in the hamlet of St.Pierre sur Dropt not far from Duras, this lovely house is a perfect retreat for those wanting to enjoy rural France. The Bastide towns of Monsegur, Eymet and Issigeac are within easy drive. Au Bardèche offers all the home comforts whilst retaining a number of the original features. It has lovely views of the Chateau at Duras and of the rolling countryside with vine covered slopes. Enjoy a glass of wine under one of the covered terraces or take a walk through the orchard. One of the 5 bedrooms Outside: There is a large area at the front of the house for parking and a large garden area. The pool (10 x 5m) has Roman steps leading to the shallow end of the pool. Sun beds and parasols are provided. There is a spacious lawned area to the side of the pool. At the back of the house there is a decked walled garden / patio area where you will find table tennis, 2 bikes, and darts. There is also a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The property benefits from central heating and 5 open fireplaces and is available for rental all year.
Bed linen and towels & pool towels are included in the price; additional linen is left at the house for stays of 2 or more weeks At the far boundary of Au Bardeche you will see the rear of the neighbouring property "Le Petit Bardeche" a newly renovated barn, owned by another member of the same "Au Bardeche" family. "Le Petit Bardeche" thoughtfully respects the privacy of the guests of Au Bardeche; it has it's own driveway, pool and gardens and faces the opposite direction to the main house.
"Le Petit Bardeche" may be rented separately or along side Au Bardeche for summer 2010 for those looking for larger accommodation. Web-link with photos and prices to follow. *************************************** Please note: A property in the hamlet, bordering to the rear of Au Bardeche (the furthest side away from the pool) has recently incurred fire damage - work to restore the house started in February. We are in contact with the owners of the damaged house and we are advised that the roof will be replaced by Easter and all exterior work is due to be finished by early June. Whilst we are being assured that there won't be any disturbance, we are temporarily offering a 15% discount on all remaining available weeks just in case you might be slightly disturbed during your stay. We will keep you updated.
