A house of simple rustic charm with private pool(Sleeps up to 6)
The
pool at Ganichou You will find this
charming property situated in the hamlet of St Nazaire in the commune of St
Astier de Duras. The property is 9
km from Duras and 13km from Ste Foy la Grande.
Both these towns have fascinating colourful weekly markets and a number
of lively bars and restaurants. The
towns date from medieval times when England and France were rivals for control
of the province.
Ganichou offers privacy
without being totally isolated. From
the terrace there is a panoramic view of peaceful undulating countryside and wooded hills. The
closest village is Loubes Bernac (appx 1 km), which has a post office,
mini-market and bar / restaurant.

charm and has been sympathetically and simply restored to give an open plan living / dining
/ kitchen area on the ground floor with beamed ceiling and open fireplace.
The kitchen is well supplied with pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc.
A cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster and washing machine
are also provided for your use. The dining table seats eight and the living area is furnished with sofas and easy chairs. A door leads to a covered terrace where there is a further table and chairs where most of our guests prefer to take their meals. The open staircase leads to an upper floor where there are three bedrooms – one with a double bed, one with twin beds and the third with (full size) bunk beds.
Additionally there is a
bathroom with bath, basin and WC (there is a short shower head, suitable for
hair-washing only) and also a separate WC.
You will also find a selection of books,
games and a CD player. Outside, behind the house you will find the fenced swimming pool (8m x 4m), sun loungers, BBQ and outdoor furniture on the adjacent paved area. Whatever your reason for coming to France, you will find plenty to do:
